A Bed Rail Is Supposed to Make You Safer. This Recall Says Otherwise.

Vive Health recalled about 12,355 adult portable bed rails because they violate the mandatory safety standard for these products.

The recalled models are:

LVA1024 and LVA3031BLK

The hazard is entrapment.

When attached to a bed, a person can become trapped within the rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress. The CPSC says this creates a serious risk of injury or death from asphyxiation.

The recalled rails were sold online through Amazon and ViveHealth.com from August 2023 through December 2025 for about $45 to $80.

Only rails purchased after August 21, 2023 are included in this recall.

   The company requires consumers to mark the recalled rails “RECALLED,” photograph them with the buyer's name, and submit the photo to the company before disposing of the product according to local requirements.

Safety equipment isn't automatically safe simply because its purpose is to protect you.

A bed rail, grab bar, shower chair or mobility device should be appropriate for the individual and used correctly.
